A Couples Retreat to reconnect, reignite, and renew your relationship.

Just Breathe

A couples therapy and breathwork retreat.

Welcome to our rejuvenating Breathwork and Couples Therapy Retreat!

Are you and your partner feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of everyday life? Do conflicts often escalate into explosive fights or result in shutting down? It's time to reignite the spark in your relationship and rediscover the power of connection through the transformative practices of breathwork and couples therapy.

At our retreat, we offer a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern science to help couples navigate through challenges and cultivate deeper intimacy. Our carefully curated program incorporates the healing benefits of breathwork, combined with expert couples therapy exercises, to create a space where you can reconnect, communicate effectively, and reignite passion in your relationship.

But how exactly does breathwork contribute to enhancing your relationship dynamics?

Let's delve into the science behind it:

Breathwork has been shown to regulate the central nervous system (CNS), helping individuals manage stress and anxiety more effectively. When stress levels are high, our bodies often react instinctively, leading to heightened reactivity and emotional explosions. By learning to control our breath, we can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a state of relaxation and calmness. This regulation of the CNS is crucial for couples as it helps them navigate conflicts with greater clarity and composure, reducing the likelihood of explosive fights or shutting down.

Moreover, the combination of breathwork with couples therapy exercises empowers partners to engage in difficult conversations without triggering the primitive response of the prefrontal cortex shutting down. Instead of reacting impulsively, couples learn to approach conflicts with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. They discover that they have the power to communicate authentically and resolve differences peacefully, fostering a deeper sense of connection and mutual respect.

During our retreat, you'll embark on a journey of self-discovery and relational healing, guided by experienced facilitators who are committed to supporting your growth as individuals and as a couple. Through immersive breathwork sessions, interactive workshops, and personalized couples therapy exercises, you'll gain invaluable insights into your relationship dynamics, uncovering hidden patterns and barriers that may be holding you back from experiencing true intimacy and fulfillment.

Whether you're seeking to reignite the passion in your relationship, heal past wounds, or simply deepen your connection with your partner, our Breathwork and Couples Therapy Retreat offers a sacred space for transformation and renewal. Join us as we embark on this journey together, reconnecting with ourselves and each other in profound and meaningful ways.

Don't let conflicts tear you apart – invest in your relationship and embark on a journey of love, growth, and transformation. Reserve your spot at our retreat today and take the first step towards a happier, healthier relationship!

Introducing your Retreat Facilitators

Beth Wylie

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Just Breathe was born out of my desire to help couples reconnect and manage their conflicts more effectively. As A Conflict Navigator and Empathy provider, I began to notice that many of my clients were becoming overwhelmed during therapy sessions, making resolving conflicts difficult. I realized that if this was happening in the therapy room, it was likely also happening at home. After a decade of observing couples get stuck in the same conflicts, I realized the importance of a calm and regulated central nervous system during conflict discussions. I drew on my own experience of learning to be less reactive in my relationships through consistent meditation. I began teaching my clients how to become more aware of their emotional reactivity. This led me to collaborate with Dr. Sarah Anne Rothman, a Naturopathic Doctor and Breathwork Retreat Leader, to create a holistic retreat that promotes inner peace, harmony in relationships, inspiration, and deep connection. We're both thrilled to share this unique experience with you.

Over the last 15 years, I have developed an expertise as a couples therapist. My practice has always consisted of couples primarily, and I have been using the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy in my work with couples from the beginning. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Hawaii and WA state. I am a level III trained Gottman Therapist, Bringing Baby Home Educator, and a 7 Principles Relationship Workshop Facilitator.

I find tremendous fulfillment in this work. My specialty is creating a comfortable and safe space for two individuals to explore their actions, goals, and efforts. While relationships have always been a central focus of mine, over the past decade, I have come to appreciate the profound impact that trauma can have on our central nervous system and therefor the conflict manaagement of a couple. I am fascinated by how our brains and past traumatic experiences affect our ability to navigate conflicts. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients understand their physiological responses and how they can use their breathe to heal so they can again experience joy, trust and vulnerability in their relationships. I'm also funny, loving, anxious, and passionate. Sometimes, I'm guilty of having double standards for the people in my life. I'm also a mother, daughter, wife, and friend. In 2018, I got sober, which opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me. I learned how to show up better in my relationships and the world, including learning how to use my breath to calm my central nervous system. Lessen my reactivity has been achieved through meditation, breathwork and working the 12 steps of Alcoholic Annoymous

Certified Naturopathic Doctor
I am a Naturopathic Doctor, Acupuncturist, Breathwork Facilitator and Mama of two. I am a lover of the ocean, the trees, neon green moss after the rain, the medicine in plants, flowers and food, people, giggles, sunshine and barefeet.
I value an integrative approach to health, through preventative medicine, functional medicine, mindfulness and individualized treatment.
I encourage you to take an active role in your health and honor your body's innate ability to heal.
Healing in all its forms ignites me. I am honored to bear witness to it daily, in myself and in all the amazing humans I have met on this journey.

I am a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor in California, Hawaii, and British Columbia and a Nationally Licensed Acupuncturist. I am currently offering patient visits through telemedicine for those near and far and in person on Maui and in California. I also offer Retreats and Breathwork programs all over the world, as I am passionate about group medicine, integrating mind and body, functionality and frequency and embodiment of the ethereal.
With a background in clinical practice, I have received extensive training in Women's Health, Fertility Thyroid Health, and Pediatrics. My experience also includes working in clinics and hospitals abroad, particularly in Bolivia, as well as collaborating with patients and physicians in rural natural health and homeopathic clinics in Kenya. For over a decade, I founded and served as the Medical Director of Thyme Integrative Health, a leading Integrative Health Clinic in Northern California that brought together and managed a diverse group of practitioners, including psychologists, integrative MDs, midwives, physical therapists, naturopathic doctors, and acupuncturists.
Breathwork is a deeply healing and sacred ancient practice. It is one of the most powerful modalities I have ever witnessed and is so beautiful and efficient because it is all about self-exploration and self-healing. It honours the medicine within you. It is an active and energizing form of breathwork that goes deep beyond words.
It brings out the medicine within you.
It can help spread light, move stagnation and old stuck energies, emotions, and patterns. It can help release trauma, grief, and pain that we may carry from our childhood, our lineage and our environment. It can help deepen self-love as well as love and compassion for everything that surrounds us. It can bring out the wildest joy and the most tender of tears. It is a beautiful practice to expand and explore creativity, connectedness, and purpose. It can help rekindle and reignite the spark, passion, compassion, and joy in relationships. I am in love with this work, as it has helped me and all those I have worked with expand on so many levels. One Breathwork Healing session can feel like 20 years of meditation, therapy, or yoga. It cracks the heart open quickly and is accessible to everyone.
I believe that how we choose to nourish and move our bodies is integral to overall health. I believe strongly in the power of food as medicine, the healing potential of herbs and nutrients, and the importance of mindfulness and breath in health.
I work with and see YOU as a complex, fascinating, and whole person.

No, we are located in the Upcountry/Northshore area of Maui. Lumeria is located right outside of Paia. Both Beth and Sarah have donated their time and resources over the last 3 months and will continue to do so until Lahaina is rebuilt and the community moves toward healing. They both see it as their Kuleana (responsibility, privilege and a right) to do so. Beth and Sarah have fallen in love with what the Aloha spirit represents and we hope to share some of that with you as well.
Will you be donating any of the proceeds of this retreat to Lahaina?
Beth and Sarah have pledged to give 10% of the profits from this retreat to The Maui Medic Healers Hui. This grassroots, kanaka run organization has been on the ground since day 1 and have provided compassionate care for those who tend to get lost in the pukas (holes) of the system. Beth has spent her time volunteering with MMHH and was and continues to be blown away by the Aloha that they provide for EVERYBODY! Even if you do not join us on this retreat, please consider donating to MMHH for future Maui donations! Mahalo!
